Raising the Roof in Nicaragua

We recently returned from a trip to Nicaragua to kick off the 2012/2013 harvest with our friends at the Cinco de Junio Cooperative, Peralta Coffees, and Fabretto.  As we were touring a pre-school in Ocotal, we noticed that in one of the classrooms, the ceiling is caving in and leaking.   I immediately asked leadership at the school to obtain a quote to see how we can help to ensure that the kids come back from Christmas break to a safe learning environment.    The quote came back and repair costs are estimated to be $2,000.

We would like to work with you, our amazingly supportive customers, to raise the $2,000 so the children no longer have to worry about their books, desks, and heads getting wet–or worse.  Please click THIS LINK to go to the fundraising page for this project, where you can make your tax deductible donation–and get free stuff from Mayorga as a thank you.  Let’s show these kids that we care!

We will post pictures showing the work being done and once again after it’s been completed.

Thank you,

Martin Mayorga
