THE actor Noel Purcell used to warble about "Dublin being heaven, with coffee at eleven and a stroll down Stephen's Green". That was, ironically, at a time when the only halfway decent coffee shop within strolling distance of Stephen's Green was Bewley's, and when, in any event, most people in Dublin much preferred a cup of tea.
